With the music business changing so rapidly, music industry professionals don’t really know how to survive and where to get the revenues from. The situation looks even more confusing for unsigned artists who are trying to push their music forward. The good news is that these days you don’t have to be signed up for a big label to release your album. Besides, the benefits of being signed up for a label are often not very clear and hugely depend on a label.

There are numerous small labels that will not be able to give you wanted exposure; there are also big labels that are too busy to move your music forward. If you are offered a label contract, don’t blindly jump into it , find out what the label can do for you.

Basically what the label should do for you is
a) release your music
b) arrange distribution
c) marketing and promotion

In theory, all of this can be done by the artist independently with enough determination and hard work, but hey, nothing is given for nothing! Surely it is much easier to let somebody else do this for you, but then you have rely on them can be frustrating) , be bound by their conditions in the contract (can be limited) and have to share the profits ( in other words, just take what they will decide to give to you).

That is why more and more unsigned artists are looking to release their music independently , but often do not really know how to release own music- there are no any clear step by step guides online available ( its a big secret!) Not untill now at least!

MuHa had been lucky to have very knowledgeable Matt Horobin helping us with the information, so I am able to pass the Knowledge to you. I can not guarantee that all information is 100% correct, as having released one album, the process still is not 100% clear. But we did it, so we did do something right, and I hope to give you all the information right now so that you will be , just like we are , happy to run own music business and have complete creative and financial freedom. The How to Release Your Music Independently step by step guide is available on MuHa website here.

If you do find this information useful, please do support us- independent music makers just like you are, and make a donation. Any amount is appreciated and will do good for your karma ( I hope).

For the donation of £11.50 or more you will also get a free MuHa release- just the one I’m going to talk about. This will give you a chance to actually see the product I am talking about.
